Snow in Denver

The snow seems to be endless, a heavy blanket on the outdoors. All the world that I see from my balcony is draped in white and the flakes are coming down as big as pop-corns.  It's late afternoon - the sun is just setting (a cold yellow color) behind some colder violet hills, sky as dark as it can be... and I am up in my window seat to enjoy this beauty..The snow drifting against the windows, politely begging entrance and then falling with disappointment to the ground.  A fine sheen of sugary frost has covered everything in sight, and white smoke rising from chimneys. Some lamps switched on..and the lights from them has made the snowballs look yellow. Trees laden with snow flakes..n a few of them haunted by ghost of snow flakes..standing naked... Everything around has fallen quiet. And in the falling quiet there was no sky or earth, only snow lifting the wind, frosting the window glass, chilling the rooms, deadening and hushing Denver. Snow..unceasing snow..
